Louis H. Staggemeyer, 77, of New Albin, died Sunday, May 2, in a La Crosse, WI, hospital.

He was born April 6, 1899, it Eitzen, MN, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Staggemeyer. He married Flora Kumpf on Aug. 24, 1927, and they farmed in the Eitzen area until nine years ago when they retired to New Albin.

Survivors are his widow; three sons, Milton and Howard, both of Eitzen, and Norbert of Caledonia, MN; nine grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. William (Ella) Spellmeyer, Mrs. Hannah Thiele, and Mrs. Herbert (Alma) Fruechte, all of Eitzen, and Mrs. Lily Schoh of Waukon.

He was preceded in death b y a daughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Lloyd Fried will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel after 4 p.m. Tuesday, and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until, the service.

Potter-Haugen Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
