Frank Beardmore, 68, retired Waukon farmer, died Monday afternoon (Feb. 3) en route to a La Crosse hospital following a car-pickup truck accident about 2:30 p.m, 24 miles south of New Albin on Highway 26.

The pickup was driven by Victor Jacobson, 47, of New Albin. The two vehicles collided on a curve, according to the Allamakee County Sheriff Department, and both went into a ditch.

Jacobson was reported to be in fair condition Tuesday morning in La Crosse Lutheran Hospital.

Both men were alone in their vehicles.

Beardmore was born April 27, 1906, in Allamakee County to Mr. and Mrs. William Beardmore. He retired Dec. 31, 1974, after having served 12 years as Allamakee County Supervisor.

Survivors are his widow, the former Myrtle Halverson; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Audrey) Grotegut of Waukon, and Mrs. Merlyn (Alyce) Klocke and Mrs. Jay (Sharon) Martin, both of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and four brothers, Arthur, Charles and Joe, all of New Albin, and Leonard of Waukon.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Martin Brothers Funeral Home, Waukon.
