Thomas F. Weipert, 37, New Albin, died Saturday, Feb. 22, at a La Crosse, WI, hospital. Cause of death was not given, but he was a diabetic and had been ill for some time.
He was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Lansing, to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weipert Sr. He married Velma Merchant, and was a carpenter before his health failed.
Survivors include his widow, Velma; a son, Thomas Jr. at home; four daughters, Cindy, Tina, Tammy and Trisha, all at home; two brothers, Robert of Dubuque, and Sam Jr. of Lansing; three sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Rosemary) Dill of Racine, WI, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Olson and Mrs. Gladys Decker, both of Waukon; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mettie Tippery of Prairie du Chien, WI.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, Rev. James J. McBride officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening at the Burke-THornburg Funeral Home in Lansing. A wake service is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
