MEYER, ROBER, ROEBER, SASS, SADLER, KORN, HAAR, REDENBAUGH

The many relatives and friends of one of our oldest citizens, Otto H. Meyer, were grieved to learn of his death which occurred at his home here Tuesday, June 4, 1963.

The end came peacefully after an illness of three weeks, death due to infirmities of old age.

Deceased was born at Eitzen, Minn., July 13, 1872, a son of Christ and Katherine (Rober) Meyer. There he grew to manhood, receiving his education in the rural school. In the year 1900, he came to New Albin and made his home. Mr. Meyer's occupation was a well driller which he followed for about fifty years.

On February 23, 1900, he was united in marriage to Mary Sass at Caledonia, Minn. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife and three children: Mrs. Urban (Leona) Sadler, Postville; Edwin Meyer, New Albin; and Mrs. Karl (Lillian) Korn, Hastings, Minn.; also 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Elmer, and one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Vernie) Redenbaugh.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at St. peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, with the Rev. Clyde Lee officiating. Burial was made in the New Albin cemetery. Casketbearers were: Walter and Edgar Haar, Paul G. Meyer, Albert Hein, Herbert Wuennecke, and Paul H. Meyer.

Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sass, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Laurence, Blue Earth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schiltz, Mr. Earl Rud, Mrs. Erling Lamb, Mrs. Bernice Diersen, Mrs. Frank Rennig, Elmer and Wilfred Rud, and Mrs. Don Harris and family, Caledonia; Mrs. Herman Haar, Mrs. Hilda Burmester, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Haar, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haar, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Haar, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Meieners, and Mrs. Minnie Schultz and Ralph, Eitzen; Mr.a nd Mrs. Urban Sadler, and Mrs. Eugene Huebner, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Korn and son Elmer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Korn and Laurie, Hastings, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thoma, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Loomis, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwartz, Cedar Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Duffy and son John, Dorchester; and Mr. and Mrs Harold Barker, Ferryville, Wis.
