Albert G. "Butch" Meyer, 81, who operated the City Meat Market in New Albin for 64 years, died Sunday, Nov. 16, in his New Albin home.

He was born Aug. 17, 1889, and lived his entire life in the village. he married Louise Spiegler in Eitzen, MN, Sept. 18, 1912.

Mr. Meyer first worked with his father in the meat market as a partner, and upon his death took it over. Following his retirement 13 years ago, he continued to work part-time in the shop for his son-in-law, Edgar Wuennecke, who now operates the business.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Shirley) Wuennecke, and Mrs. Kermit (Bernice) Wild, both of New Albin; one son, Kermit of Lower Lake, CA; three brothers, Edward, Paul and Sigurd of New Albin; two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Jordan and Mrs. Annie Pohlman of New Albin; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, with Rev. Clyde Lee officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Potter-Haugen Funeral Home in Caledonia, MN, after 3 p.m. Tuesday and Tuesday evening, and at the church on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
