Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Burke Funeral Chapel at Lansing for Percy Wm. Buckendahl, who passed away Friday, March 26, at the Good Samaritan Rest Home in Cresco, after an illness of six weeks. Death resulted from pneumonia.
He was born Aug. 30, 1899, in Houston County, Minn., a son of Henry and Annie Buckendahl. He was educated in the New Albin school, and worked for the county for many years until his retirement. During his earlier years he was active in community affairs, serving on the town council, and was a member of the fire department. His many friends and acquaintances will be saddened to hear of his death, which was unexpected despite his illness.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Otto Hurley of New Albin, and one brother, Gust of Tulare, S. Dak. preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, five brothers, one stepbrother, one stepsister, and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Clyde Lee of New Albin officiated at the services, and burial was made in the New Albin Cemetery. Casket bearers were Donald Thompson, Gilman Beeler, Leslie Reiser, Norbert Plagge, Paul Meyer and Earl Reiser.
