Adele A. Travis, 96, of 479 Main St., Lansing, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1992, at Thornton Manor Nursing Center in Lansing. She was born Oct. 17, 1896, in Union City Township, rural New Albin, to Ernest and Wilhelmina (Schuttemeier) Verthein. She married Paul H. Stehr and he died in 1929. She married Roy E. Travis and he died in 1951.

She is survived by two sons, Kermit Stehr of Lansing, and Harry Travis of Milton, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin. The Rev. Dennis Siebert will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the New Albin Funeral Chapel, and also from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing is in charge of arrangements.
