Geraldine "Gerry" I. Rouster, 74, of Lansing, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993, in Thornton Manor Health Care Center, Lansing, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Lansing, to Sever and Grace (Prince) Olsen. She graduated in 1937 from Lansing High School. She married Charles Theodore Rouster in October of 1940.

She was a homemaker, a retired employee of the Lansing Co., and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lansing. Gerry and her husband lived in Lansing until 1981 when, due to ill health, they moved to the Allamakee County Care Facility, Waukon. After her husband's passing in 1983, Gerry then moved to Thornton Manor Health Care Center, Lansing.

Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (Chester) Schlake of Waukon, Mabel (Allen) Stahl of Lansing, and Lois (Michael) Conway of Harpers Ferry; a sister, Mabel Gramlich, who is also an Alzheimer resident living in Thornton Manor; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; a son, Edward; and her brother, Sever Herman Olsen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lansing. The Rev. Kim Thacker will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, and also one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
