Maxine Kester, 62, New Albin, died Friday, July 20, 1984, in St. Francis Medical Center, La Crosse.

She was born April 23, 1922, in Elkader to Ray and Marjorie (Liddy) Welsh. She married Robert Kester on June 29, 1944, in Elkader.

She recently retired as personal manager at Sears Roebuck and Co. in La Crosse, WI.

Survivors are her husband; a daughter, L'Louise Hedrick of Winona, MN; her mother of New Albin; four brothers, Leon of Elkader, Lyle of Duchesne, UT, and Donald and Carroll, both of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Dorothy Eisenminger of Cherokee, IA, and LaVerle Corrigan of Lake City, MN.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin. The Rev. Robert Rahe will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel today from 4 to 9 p.m. with a wake scripture service to be at 8 p.m.

The Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.
