Mrs. Frances E. Whalen, 84, New Albin, died Saturday, April 24, 1982, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1898, in Houston County, Minnesota, to Edward and Kathryn (Ryan) Waters. On April 17, 1917, she married Peter A. Whalen and he died on Jan. 11, 1976.

Survivors are four sons, Earl of Albuquerque, N.M, Leo and Ray, both of New Albin, and Dale of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Rita) Imhoff and Mrs. Tim (Mary) Bechtel, both of New Albin; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, with the Rev. Linus Rasing officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel today from 3 to 9 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 8 p.m.

Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.
