Alford L. Tabatt, 78, New Albin, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 1985, in Thornton Manor nursing home, Lansing.

He was born March 2, 1906, in La Crosse to Alford and Verona (Hayes) Tabatt. He married Edna Wuennecke on May 31, 1945, in Waukon.

Prior to his retirement, Tabatt had owned and operated Tabatt's Garage in New Albin.

He served in the Navy for six years.

Survivors are his wife, and a sister, Marian Weymiller of New Albin.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a half-sister.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, with the Rev. Richard Waters officiating. Burial will be in the New Albin City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the services.

The Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
