Blanche F. Thornton, 89, of 371 Diagonal St., Lansing, died Saturday, March 2, 1985, in Thornton Manor Nursing Home.

She was born May 23, 1895, in Jackson, Minn., to John and Fredericka (Hegeman) O'Donnell.

She married John W. Thornton on May 24, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo. He died April 19, 1979.

She is survived by three sons, John of Pittsburgh, Gregory of Chicago, and Matthew of San Francisco; two daughters, Mary Roland of Tucson, Ariz. and Patricia Thornton of Madison, Wisc.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.

Services will be a 11 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
