Fredrick P. Jordan, 81, New Albin, died Monday, March 13, 1978, in Thornton Manor nursing home, Lansing.

He was born March 22, 1896, in Houston County, Minn., to Carl and Alvina (Beyer) Jordan. On Aug. 26, 1918, he married Florence Gruber at St. Paul, Minn.

The couple owned and operated restaurants in the St. Paul area before their retirement. Jordan also worked at the post office in St. Paul for 24 years.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion of St. Paul and was a past district commander.

The couple often spent weekends and vacations at a farm they owned near New Albin, and then moved to the area about two years ago.

Survivors are his wife; two brothers, Rudolph of New Albin and Al of Chicago.

Six brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, with the Rev. James Dahlgren and Jordan's nephew, the Rev. Paul Jordan, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, with military services conducted by the New Albin American Legion.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel after 3 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service to be at 8 p.m.

Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.
