Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin for Herbert Donovan, 66. The Rev. James McBride officiated at the funeral and burial was in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge.

The last of his family, Herbert Donovan died Friday, May 2, 1975, after a long illness.

He was born July 26, 1908, son of Michael and Margaret (Morgan) Donovan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a grandson, three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Donovan and 11 of their 12 children remain. She is the former Edna Monner to whom he was married at St. Mary Catholic Cathedral, Winona, Minn., Sept. 15, 1936.

The children are Mrs. Frank (Mona) Hammell of Beloit, Wis.; Mrs. Virgil (Sandra) Oster of Des Moines; Barbara Donovan of Dubuque; Roger, James, Gena Patrick and Kenneth Donovan of Beloit, Wis.; and Larry, Mike and David Donovan, all at home.
