Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home for David Charles Bloxham, 87, who passed away at the Odd Fellows Home in Mason City last Wednesday. The rites were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church. Burial was at the Postville Cemetery.
David Charles Bloxham, son of Charles and Jeanette Bloxham, was born April 18, 1866, in Franklin township, Allamakee county, Iowa. He died Wednesday, July 22, 1953 at the Odd Fellows Home in Mason City, Iowa at the age of 87 years.
On November 16, 1893 he was married to Louisa Nagel at Waukon.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Grace Harman, Forest Grove, Oregon, Mrs. Kenneth Peterson, Iowa Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1922 and a daughter, Mrs. Amy Marston.
Mr. Bloxham was engaged in farming in Franklin township until March 1, 1911 when he moved to Postville where he lived for 20 years. The next 15 years he received affectionate care at the home of his great-niece, Mrs. William Wolfe at Harpers Ferry.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
