Leo Edmund McClintock, SFC US Army Ret., age 82 of Rice Lake, Wisconsin was led to eternal life with his wife, Katharina, on Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Leo was born July 15, 1928 in Jefferson Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Edmund George and Hannah (Gjefle) McClintock.

Leo attended school in Rossville, Iowa and Waukon, Iowa. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Army and for 25 years proudly served his country with honor and courage. He was married in Mannheim, Germany on February 21, 1957 to Katharina Rothermel. Leo was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, receiving numerous commendations for meritorious service. He retired with an honorable discharge from the Army on June 30, 1972. He was extremely proud of his service to our country. In his retirement he enjoyed his life with his loving wife and daughter. He liked to hunt and fish, loved animals and just being outdoors in "God's Country.

Leo Edmund McClintock is survived by his daughter, Barbara McClintock of West Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his sister-in-law Ruth McClintock of Decorah, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; his "extended" family Laura "LS" Schmit of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, Beverly Wendling of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and the Hansons of Haugen, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his wife Katharina on November 17, 2008; his parents; one brother Sidney McClintock and two sisters and their husbands, Beulah and Beacher Bollman and Ione and Olvin Larson.

Funeral services were held at the Jarocki-Skinner Funeral Home in Rice Lake with burial in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans' Center Honor Guard and the State Honors Team.
