Audrey B. Luttchens, 75, formerly of New Albin, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at the Lutheran Home, Caledonia.
She was born April 4, 1924, in Caledonia to August and Esther (Ratonde) Schroeder. On Nov. 24, 1942, she married Otto Luttchens. Together they lived in Jefferson township where they enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and spending time with their family. On Nov. 30, 1993, Otto preceded Audrey in death. Audrey then moved into New Albin for three years before becoming a resident of the Lutheran Home in Caledonia. Audrey was a longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on the Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of the Riverview Homemakers.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita (Curtis) Beardmore of New Albin, Anita (Gerald) Meyer of Dorchester, Iowa, and Linda (Kent) Tanner of New Albin; six grandchildren, Terry (MariLee) Beardmore, Cindy (John) Costello, Becky (Jamie) Breeser, Gary (Becky) Meyer and Christopher and Lindsey Tanner; nine great-grandchildren, Crystal and Ross Brown, Avery and Cory Beardmore, Kiley and John Costello, Kelsey and Brenna Meyer and Cody Breeser; a special nephew, Gerald (Dixie) Luttchens of Rochester, Minn.; and two special nieces, Donna Luttchens of New Albin and Belva Tikal of Aurora, Col. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Wanda; and a brother and a sister-in-law, Lloyd and Cora Schroeder.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin. Rev. William Reese will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the New Albin Townhouse and Chapel on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
