Selma E. Van Brocklin, 74, of Storm Lake, IA, died following a sudden illness, Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at her Storm Lake home. A memorial fund has been established for the Lakeside Presbyterian Church kitchen fund.

Selma Elizabeth Van Brocklin was born Sept. 29, 1923, in New Albin, IA, to Adolph and Emma (Meyer) Beneke. She was married to Ray Van Brocklin in October of 1950.

Selma was an accomplished seamstress, working in her home. She later worked for the cafeteria of Buena Vista University for several years. She was an active member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Audrey (Dave) Phillips, Sioux City, IA, and Carol Van Brocklin, Minneapolis, MN; two granddaughters; and a sister, Marie Solberg, New Albin.
