Alice M. Meyer, 66, of Prairie du Chien, WI, and formerly of New Albin, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1945, in La Crosse, WI, to Howard and Edna (Gade) Meyer. Alice was a 1963 graduate of Eastern Allamakee County High School. After two years of attending and then teaching beauty school, Alice owned and operated the Alice in Wonderland Beauty Salon in New Albin for many years. In 1995 Alice retired from the beauty salon and moved to Prairie du Chien. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and Kenneth Casey VFW Post 5630 Ladies Auxiliary, both in New Albin.

Survivors include three brothers, Duane Meyer of Holmen,WI, and Fritz (Ruth) Meyer and Orville (Beverly) Meyer, both of Prairie du Chien; one sister-in-law, Harriet Meyer of North Prairie, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leroy; and one sister-in-law, Betty.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at St. Peter's Church in New Albin. Pastor William J. Reese will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Caledonia, MN, is in charge of arrangements.
