EMERT RICE
NEW ALBIN, a. --(Special)--Emert S. Rice, 87, died Friday at his home in New Albin after an illness of several weeks.

He was born Feb. 4, 1862, in Opdahl, Norway, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sven Rice. He married the former Catherine Gantinbine July 12, 1886.

He was employed by a New Albin creamery prior to his illness. He had been a member of the Lutheran church and was at one time a member of the Lansing school board.

He is survived by four daughters, Amy, New Albin, Kay, Wausau, Wis., Violet French, Buffalo, N.Y., and Eva Copeland, San Francisco; one son, Roy Rice, Edmonton, Canada; one sister, Molly Rice, Minneapolis. Mrs. Rice preceded her husband in death.

Funeral services are incomplete, but the Rev. Lynn King will officiate and burial will be in the New Albin cemetery.
