Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for James Guider, 83, who died Wednesday at the home of his brother, M.D. Guider, will be held at the Wexford Catholic church, with the Rev. L.P. Craney, Lansing, celebrating the requiem mass at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Guider had been in failing health for some years, and had spent more than a year at a La Crosse hospital, returning to Lansing last April.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Guider and was born in Lafayette township, Feb. 8, 1861. His wife was the former Johanna Mahoney.
Mr. Guider is survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Hackett, Sioux City; a brother, M.D. Guider, Lansing; and half brothers and sisters, Mrs. Katherine Tulley and Miss Francis Guider, both of Chicago, Mrs. Lillian Dowdle and John Guider, St. Paul, Mrs. Carl Johnson and Robert Guider, Lansing, Mrs. August Anderson, Waukon, Miss Clara Guider, San Francisco, Calif., Daniel Guider, Sioux City, and Stephen, Oakland, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1941, a son, two brothers, and a sister.
