Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Gabriella Krieger, 84, who died at her home early Friday morning, will be held at the Immaculate Conception church here Monday at 9:30 a.m. Her son, the Rev. Herbert Krieger, Winthrop, Ia., will be one of the priests to officiate at the requiem high mass.
Mrs. Krieger was born in Province Posen, Germany, March 8, 1860, as Gabriella Arendt. She was educated n the schools of Germany, and there, on Oct. 11, 1887, she was married to Vincent Krieger. They came to America in June, 1889, with their daughter, Sophie, and settled at Lansing, where five sons were born. Mr. Krieger died in 1924.
Mrs. Krieger was a member of the Rosary society, and belonged to other groups until she became an invalid nine years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Sophie Bailey, Lansing; four sons, the Rev. Herbert Krieger, Winthrop; Leo, Lansing; Theodore, Renton, Wash. and Edward, whose whereabouts are not known; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son. She had 10 brothers and sisters, only one of whom came to America.
Casket bearers at the funeral services will be Henry Rettinger, Henry Burke, Joe Wagner, Alphonse Hess, Hugo Fritz, and Edward Weber. Burial will be in Gethsemane cemetery.
