Oliver A. Nuehring, 71, of Marshalltown and formerly of Waukon, died suddenly Saturday, September 20, 2003, at his home at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. Services are planned for Thursday, September 25 in Marshalltown with a memorial service scheduled for Thursday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. Oliver is survived by four children, Brenda (Dan) Schmitt of Waukon, Sandy (Rusty) Phillips of Elgin, Grant (Heather) Nuehring of Lansing, and Kerry Nuehring of Waukon. Oliver farmed in the Waukon area for over 30 years, following discharge from the U.S. Army, where he was decorated with the purple heart.
