Bernice L. Nevermann, 82, of Denver, CO, formerly of Waukon, died August 7, 2003 at Hospice of Saint John in Lakewood, CO. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 am at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Richard N. Eick officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may greet the family for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Bernice Louise Nevermann was born February 18, 1921 in Ludlow Township, rural Waukon, the daughter of John Fred and Ella C. (Debner) Fiet. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and attended rural Ludlow Township schools. November 24, 1938 she married Earl Walter Nevermann. Bernice worked as a caring homemaker. She also helped at the Standard Service Station she and her husband operated, and did some housekeeping for neighboring families. When living in Waukon she was a member of Zion United Church of Christ - where she taught Sunday School, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was good at handiwork and known for the beautiful doilies she made. She has lived in the Denver, CO area since 1984. Survivors include two sons, Leslie (Faye) Nevermann of Waukon and their children Adam, Amy, and Andrew; and Lee Nevermann of Denver, CO and his children Timothy and Matthew. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Dorothy Fiet of Waukon. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Delbert Fiet.

Bernice (Fiet) Neverman, age 82, of Waukon, died Thursday, August 7, 2003, in Denver, Colo., from a short illness. Bernice was born in Allamakee County February 18, 1921, the daughter of John and Ella Fiet of Waukon. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Neverman, and a brother, Delbert C. Fiet. Survivors include two sons, Leland A. Neverman of Denver, Colo., and Leslie (Faye) Neverman of Waukon; grandsons Mathew and Timothy Neverman of Denver and Adam and Andrew Neverman of Waukon; and a granddaughter, Amy Neverman of Waukon.
