Patrick Fisk, age 18, of Monona, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., from injuries sustained in a July 4 auto accident. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 18, 2003, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona. The Rev. John W. Moran officiated. Burial followed in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Monona. Patrick John Fisk was born in Waukon May 3, 1985, to Curt and Julie (Sweeney) Fisk. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona. Patrick graduated with honors from MFL MarMac High School in 2003. He was a very active member in the wrestling program. He greatly enjoyed training and wrestling with his three brothers and he accomplished much throughout his career. As with everything he did, his mind, body, and heart were set on the stars and he gave it everything he had.
Patrick dedicated a lot of his time supporting his family's business at the Fisk Farm and Home stores. He was a natural leader and enjoyed working with the employees and being a helping hand to the customers. Patrick loved all water sports, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and farming. He treasured spending time with family and friends. He was blessed to have three brothers who he loved as his best friends. Patrick lived life to the fullest. He looked for the best in others and always gave them the best he had. His greatest qualities were being generous, kind-hearted, caring, thoughtful, and fun-loving. He could often be quoted saying, "It will be alright." The everlasting smile on his face and twinkle in his eyes will live on forever in the many hearts he touched in his short, but fulfilling life. Survivors include his parents, Curt and Julie Fisk; two sisters, Janelle (Darren) Regan of Cresco and Laura (Patrick) Whittle of Elkader; three brothers, Phillip, Peter, and Paul Fisk of Monona; two nieces, Monica and Meika Regan of Cresco; one nephew, Matthew Whittle of Elkader; and a host of other relatives. Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Betty Fisk and Ray and Monica Sweeney, and a cousin, Jason Johanningmeier. Casketbearers were Mike Johanningmeier, Nathan Manning, Jonathan Herman, Justin Sweeney, Greg Lubahn, Steve Sweeney, and Brent Blietz. Honorary casketbearers were his aunts, uncles, and cousins; Fisk Farm and Home employees; and the MFL-Mar Mac wrestling team.
