Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 8 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, Iowa, for Clara M. Arndt, 88. The Rev. David Guetzke officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Clara M. Schroeder, daughter of John and Martha Schroeder, was born June 28, 1894 near Postville. She died Sept. 5 at a Mason City hospital where she had been taken Sept. 2 because of illness.

Mrs. Arndt lived in the Postville area until her marriage September 27, 1913 to Emil Henry Arndt when she moved to Rockwell, Iowa. They were the parents of 10 children. She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. George Smith at Rockford for the past year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Louis and Herbert Brandt; five sisters, Mrs. W. C. (Emma) Koenig, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Schultz, Mrs. Edward (Florence) Preuss, Mrs. Alvin (Selma) Neuhring and Mrs. Claude (Ruth) Weaver; and four sons, Velder and Lloyd and two in infancy. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George (Clara Mae) Smith, Mason City; four sons, Delbert and Roger, Mason City; Darrell, St. Cloud, Minn.; John and Robert, Minneapolis, Minn., 37 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
