Elgin Echo, Thursday, 23 April 1903.

Williams, the seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Britton, of Waukon, was the victim of a fatal accident recently. The boy had gone to sleep behind the kitchen stove and while Mr. Britton was replenishing the fire, the contents of a teapot overturned upon the lad, burning his face, arms, chest and sides so badly that medical aid was of no avail. After two days of intense pain death released the sufferer.
