THURSDAY NOVEMBER 4, 1915Patrick Kernan died at his home in Wexford Sunday night, age eighty-seven years.
He was one of the pioneer settlers of this community. He leaves six sons and two
daughters, besides his aged wife and many other relatives to bereave for him.
The funeral was held Tuesday at Wexford.ALLAMAKEE JOURNAL, Lansing and Waukon, Iowa

Deaths of the Week
PATRICK KERNANThe death of this old and esteemed pioneer of Wexford took place at his home
in Lafayette township Sunday evevning at 8 o'clock. deceased was a native of Ireland
and lacked but four months of being 90 years old, being one of the oldest men in his
community. He is survived by a widow and grown up family of seven sons and two
daughters as follows; Michael, Thomas, James, Patrick, Stephen, Joseph, Simon,
Mrs. John delaney and Mary. The funeral occured yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock
at Wexford Church, Rev. Father Laffan officiating, and internment being made in
the cemetery nearby.
