Funeral services for Oliver Otis Stockton, 85, Waukon, were held Saturday, July 23 at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church in Waukon with Pastor Ray Richardson officiating.

Pallbearers were Edwin R. Estep, Wendel Stevens, Walter Gelo, Sam R., Richard O. and Kenneth C. Stockton. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Stockton died Tuesday, July 19 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He was born August 19, 1880, in Stoughton, Wis. and was the son of Eben A. and Adelia Showers Guernsey. August 4, 1908, he married Eliza Stevens in Madison, Wis. She preceded him in death. He lived most of his life in Waukon, but spent from 1952 to 1959 in Washington state.

Mr. Stockton attended local schools in Wisconsin, and was employed with the maintenance department of the Iowa highway commission.

Survivors include the following children: Otis, Decorah; Adrian, Pasadena, Texas; Charles, Tacoma, Wash.; Robert, Jefferson, Wis.; Marguerite, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. John (Edith) Estep, Waunakee, Wis.; and Mrs. Earl (Gretta Marie) Fitzsimmons, Okauchee, Wis. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren.

Mr. Stockton was a member of Waukon's First Baptist Church. Martin Brothers Funeral home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
