The funeral of Mrs. Oliver Stockton was held Monday afternoon from Martin's funeral home and the First Baptist church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Mr. Calvin Anderstrom officiated. Pallbearers were Harold Herman, William Decker, Ray Shogren, Clarence Bray, Lynn Livingood and Martin Meier. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Stockton passed away July 28 after a long period of ill health. She was almost a life-long resident of Allamakee county, where she was born March 28, 1890, daughter of Daniel F. and Florence Mero Stevens. She was married to Oliver Stockton august 4, 1908, at Madison, Wis., and they spent a few years residing there.
Mr. Stockton survives as do their eight children: Marguerite, Castalia; Edith, Mrs. John Estep, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; Otis, Luana; Adrian, Pasadena, Texas; Frederick, Seattle, Wash.; Charles, Tacoma, Wash.; Gretta Marie, Mrs. Earl Fitzsimmons, Oconomowoc, Wis.; Robert, Fort Atkinson, Wis. There are ten grandchildren and two brothers remain; D. A. Stevens, West Ellis, Wis., and John E. Stevens of Waterloo.
