Chester A. Pearson, lifelong resident of this community, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home in this city following a lingering illness. funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, with a short service at the home, followed by the service at the Community Presbyterian church. Rev. L.H. Newhouse and Brotherly Love Lodge, No. 204, A.F. & A.M., will have charge of the services at the church. Interment will be in Grand Meadow cemetery.

Mr. Pearson was 56 years old. He was born August 11, 1885, as the son of George W. and Julia Hunt Pearson at Hardin, east of Postville, and his entire lifetime was spent in Post township.

He was married to Eula Jones on June 25, 1912, and to them were born three daughters, who together with Mrs. Pearson survive. They are Hilda, Mrs. Fred Bruns, of Mobile, Alabama; Frances, Mrs. Sydney Larson, and Mary Pearson, both of this city. Also surviving are five grandchildren, as well as four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Sawdey of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Mattie Dunning of Alva, Oklahoma; Mrs. Kathryn Evans of Reno, Nevada, and Mrs. Jessie Ernst of this city. One brother, Victor Pearson, and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Reincke, passed away some years ago.

Mr. Pearson was a farmer in Post township until last October when he and his family moved to Postville. He was for many years associated with H.E. Roberts in the fruit and vegetable business, bringing these commodities here in carload lots and disposing them to the people of northeastern Iowa. Through this business he had a wide acquaintanceship in this section of the state.

He was a member of the Community church; chairman of Post township in the Allamakee County Farm Bureau, and was affiliated with the Masonic lodge in this city.
