Nels Oleson passed away at the home of his nephew, Martin Oleson, Tuesday afternoon, April 25th. His death was caused by Bright's disease and he had been ill for several weeks. The deceased was born March 22, 1842, in Sogn, Norway, and therefore was 74 years, one month and three days old at the time of his death. In 1867 he was united in marriage to Martha Annundson and four years later came to Iowa, settling near Decorah. In 1885 he moved to Allamakee county, Iowa, where he has since resided. He leaves to mourn his death two daughters, Mrs. Ole Munson of Decorah, Mrs. Walter Christofferson of Postville; two brothers, Tosten Oleson of Mt. Sterling, Wis., Ole Oleson of Postville, and several grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home of Martin Oleson, Rev. P. M. Phillips officiating. Interment was made in Postville cemetery by the side of his wife, who died several years ago.
