Funeral services for Leona F. Schultz were held Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Robert Hupp officiated with Ramona Everman as organist and Kim Schutte as soloist. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Leona Freida Schultz, daughter of Henry and Anna (Harnack) Mohs, was born August 3, 1912, at Lime Springs, IA. She passed away on March 19, 2001 at Oakwood Village in Madison, Wisconsin. She had reached the age of 88 years, 7 months and 16 days.

She was baptized on January 2, 1913 at Lime Springs and confirmed August 15, 1926 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.

Leona was married to Fred A. Schultz on September 21, 1927 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. To this union a daughter and twin sons were born. She was employed at the Postville Turkey Processing Plant in Postville as a State SDA Grader until suffering a stroke on June 15, 1974. On March 14, 1975 she was transferred from Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI to Oakwood Nursing Home in Madison, WI.

Surviving are her son Floyd (Jean) Schultz of Lake Mills, WI; 2 grandchildren, Jeff Schultz of Charlotte, NC and Julie Schultz of Lake Mills, WI. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, Jackie, Tania, Kim, Chris and Jason Schultz and Vanessa (Ryan) Roghers .

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred on November 16, 1960, a son Lloyd and a daughter who died in infancy; 6 brothers, Arno, Bill, Elmer, Harvey, Harry and Lawrence and 2 sisters, Mabel Suckow and Florence Fromming.

Leona was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Casket bearers were Jeff, Julie and Norman Schultz, Mary Lee Farmer, Shirley Berge, and Delbert Suckow.

Honorary casket bearers were Jackie, Tania, Kim, Chris and Jason Schultz and Vanessa Roghers.
