Frances A. Howard was born in Chenango Co., N.Y., Aug. 2, 1827, was married to Isaac Angell, Dec. 16, 1849, and came to Iowa in 1852, settling on a farm near Elkader, where her husband died in 1853. She was united in marriage to David M. Tripp, April 6, 1864. He passed away March 29, 1902. Of her five children but two survive her, Mrs. M. A. Childs of Des Moines and Ed F. Angell of Minnesota. For more than thirty years she lived in Postville. Last October she closed her home and went to the Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown, intending to return in April, and last Saturday wrote her people to have her home in readiness as she was preparing to return home. But this was not to be, for on Monday of this week she was stricken with her last illness and passed to her reward at the age of almost 87 years. Two children, eight grandchildren and a sister survive her.

The remains were shipped to Postville Wednesday, where at two o'clock on Thursday afternoon the funeral was held from the Congregational church, Rev. J. F. Childress conducting the service, assisted by Rev. W. R. Mellott. Interment in the Postville cemetery.

In this connection the family wish to extend sincere thanks to the friends who so kindly assisted them in their bereavement.

The following out of town relatives and friends were present at the funeral - Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Childs and Mrs. S. F. Harrington of Des Moines, Mrs. O. R. Follett and Henry Follett of Clermont.
