Postville Herald, Thur., 20 April, 1939.
Mrs. Frank Bloxham, 69, for many years a resident of Postville and vicinity, passed away Monday noon following a brief illness during which she had been a patient at Postville Community hospital. Funeral services were held at the family home in this city Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with the Rev. J. Ian Fraser, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church, officiating and interment was made in Postville cemetery.
Mrs. Bloxham was born as Letta Collins at Monona December 19, 1869, the daughter of Oscar and Orpha Cummings Collins, her mother being the first white child born in Clayton county.
After her marriage to Frank Bloxham she lived for many years on their farm north of Luana, later moving to Postville which has been the family home since. To this union five children were born, namely, Clarence, Lee, Isabel (now Mrs. Frank Miller), Roy, and Jeanette (now Mrs. Everette Cook), who together with the husband, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one brother, Wright Collins, of Piggott, Ark., survive. Many other relatives and a host of friends grieve with the family at her passing.
Mrs. Bloxham was of a quiet, home loving nature, always busy in the interests and welfare of her family and home, seeking to bring happiness to her children and grandchildren. She had been associated with the Methodist church and her children were brought up in that church.
