Joseph Handel, a former resident of Postville, died at his home at 780 Rush street, Dubuque, last Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Germany 63 years ago and had resided in Dubuque for the last fouteen years. He was an employee of the Dubuque Realty company. Mr. Handel was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Farley & Loetscher Shops society.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Wallace Gordon of Postville, Mrs. Charles Tipp of McGregor, Mrs. Samuel Cornish and Mrs. J. Dietrich of Dubuque.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church at 2:30, interment in St. John's cemetery.
