Mrs. [Mattie Sophia] Peter Service Passes Away At Palatine, Ill.

Mrs. Alice Miller of this city received a letter last Friday from Peter Service of Palatine, Illinois, conveying the sorry news of the passing of his wife at a hospital in that city on Wednesday, August 11th, her demise following a protracted period of failing health.

Deceased was a daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. James Perry of this city. She was born and grew to womanhood in this city, where she was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, who will learn of her passing with sorrow and extend tenderest sympathy to those bereft.

She is survived by her husband and several children, also by a sister, Mrs. Mae Thomas, of California.
