Funeral services for Lee G. Brainard, 65, were held Monday, March 12 at 2 p.m. at McLouchlin Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with the Rev. Louis H. Wollberg officiating. Burial was in Highland Sacred Garden, Sedalia.
Lee G. Brainard, son of George R. and Eva (Smith) Brainard, was born May 31, 1918 in Postville. He died Wednesday, March 7 in Warrensburg, MO after a pickup truck-semi collision.
He was married Jan. 16, 1944 to Donna M. Wenger at Elgin. They farmed in the Postville area until 1968 when they moved to Sedalia. They were the parents of one son and 4 daughters. Lee was employed at Trans-Central Suppliers, Sedalia.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Richard C. Brainard, Belpre, KS; 4 daughters: Kris L. Hineman of Woodinville, WA; Jenny K. and Helen J. Brainard and Tina M. Gerke, Sedalia; 5 grandchildren; 6 brothers: Dale, Keith and John, all of Postville; Ray of Marion and Gene and Edgar of Waukon; 3 sisters, Barbara Schori, Chicago and Bernice Poesch and Janice Walby, Postville.
