Funeral services for Gordon Albert Kregel of Postville, Iowa were held Saturday, March 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated. Interment was at the Postville Community Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.

Gordon Albert Kregel, son of Gustav and Martha (Voelz) Kregel, was born February 1, 1926 in Clayton County on a farm near Luana, Iowa. Gordon was baptized in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa. On June 7, 1949 he was united in marriage to Lavon Kutzbach at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. They became the parents of three children. Gordon was active in many community organizations and worked at several occupations until he was forced by ill health to retire. He was making arrangements to begin the bookkeeping course at Area One in September.

Gordon Albert Kregel died upon arrival at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on March 17, 1976. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Gerald Kregel who died in infancy.

Gordon is survived by his mother Martha Kregel and his wife, Lavon, both of Postville, Iowa; 3 children, Mark Kregel of Wapello, Iowa, Sherri Kregel and Kent Kregel, both of Postville, Iowa; 2 brothers, Eldon Kregel of Luana, Iowa and Donald Kregel of Monona, Iowa, in addition to nieces, and nephews.
