George E. Wilkins
1868-1922
George Edward McGoon was born August 13, 1868, in Allamakee Co., Iowa, and died 4:30p.m. August 19, 1922, age 54 years and 6 days. When seven years of age he was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wilkins who preceded him in death. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Bertha Emma Jenkins. To this union nine children were born, Thelma Olive, George Henry, Dorothy Elizabeth, Donald Edward, Lois Emma, Louisa Evelyn, Marcus Allen, and Lloyd Ernest. One child preceded him in death.
As a father and husband he was honored and repected. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. for fourteen years. In 1913 he moved his family to Chugwater, Wyoming. He united with the Methodist
Episcopal church at Lone Tree in January 1920. During his last illness he was a constant beliveer in prayer and would repeatedly say "Gods will be done."He leaves to mourn his untimely death his wife and family, mother Mrs. Sarah Mitchell, four sisters Mrs. M. N. Allen, Mrs. Manuel Sherbond, Mrs. Fred Carmicheal, and Mrs. Myrtle Thoreson, a host of friends and relatives.
The services were conducted by pastor Wm. J. Law.
Music was furnished by the choir of the Lone Tree M. E. chapel. Interment followed at the flats church cemetery near Chugwater.Card of thanks
