Funeral services for Guy Vinton Leas, age 69, of Rossville, Iowa, were held at 3:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa. Rev. Keith Kensinger officiated. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson Township in Allamakee County, Iowa. Pallbearers were Ray Mitchell, Gary Mitchell, Elmer Rush, John "Jack" Beisker, Leon Ralston, and Eugene Thias. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Guy Vinton Leas, son of James Finley and Emma (Huff) Leas, was born in Allamakee County on October 29, 1904. On October 7, 1926 Vinton married Clara Hanson in Allamakee County, Iowa. They had four children, Loren, Eileen, LeRoy, and Joyce.

Guy Vinton Leas died in LaCrosse, Wisconsin at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital on September 26, 1974.

NOTE OF THE TRANSCRIBER:

Clara Leas passed away on December 14, 2000.
The names of their children were:
1. Loren Vinton Leas married Donna Mae Krambeer and lived in Luana, Iowa
2. Eileen Leas married Cornelius Olloff and lived in Freeport, Illinois.
3. LeRoy Leas married Clarice Christensen and lived in Yuma, Arizona for many years.
4. Joyce Leas married Lowell Siegele and lived in McGregor, Iowa.

Guy Vinton Leas had four older brothers:
1. Floyd Andrew Leas married Ireta Deal.
2. Everett Leo Leas married Bernice Stock.
3. Harley Finley Leas married Feryl Deal.
4. Frederick James Leas married Bessie McMullen.

Vinton's father, James Finley Leas, died in an accident April 10, 1904, six months before Vinton was born. Emma married Jacob Deal and to this marriage, they had a daughter, Florence Deal who married a Hancock.
