Funeral services for Clara Lena Leppert, age 87, of Lansing, Iowa were held at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lansing with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa with Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Daniel Cole, Lee Feuerhelm, Carleton Christiansen, Donald Dee, Calvin Shindoll, and Reuben Shindoll.

Clara Lena, daughter of Adolph and Carolena (Nagel) Siekmeier, was born May 3, 1909 in Waukon, Iowa. She attended rural school in Jefferson Township of Allamakee County, Iowa. On June 12, 1929 she married Clarence Herman Leppert. To this union were born 4 children.

Clara Lena Leppert died Thursday, August 29, 1996 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence who died in June of 1980, 2 sons, Roger Leppert who died in infancy, and Howard Leppert; a sister, Mary Shindoll, a granddaughter, Andrea Beyer, and a great-granddaughter.

Clara is survived by her son Robert "Bob" (Barb) Leppert of Lansing, Iowa; 1 daughter, Ruth (Andy) Beyer of Saudi Arabia; a daughter-in-law, Della Leppert; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 sisters, Anna Moline, Lydia Miller, Esther Buntrock, Ruth Klocke, and Dorothy Fiet.
