Funeral services for Ina Lorraine Howes, age 65, wife of former Waukon, Iowa resident, John C. Howes, were held at 7 p.m. Monday September 10 at Milton Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Egelston and the Rev. Debbie Engelston officiating.

Ina Lorraine Howes was born December 23, 1924 and died at her home on September 8, 1990 in Hurricane, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, John C. Howes; 3 sons, Charles Howes of Holliston, Massachusetts, Scott Howes of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and William Howes of Hurricane, West Virginia; a daughter, Margaret Howes of Bowling Green Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; and a brother. J. Donald Olson of Glenview, Illinois.

NOTE: The obituary did not give a burial place. However, in 1999 when her husband John C. Howes passed away, he was brought back to Allamakee County and was buried in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural New Albin, Iowa. It is possible that she was brought to Iowa for burial.

William Howes contacted me today, to confirm that his mother is buried at the Mt Hope Cemetery next to his father.
