Funeral services for Arthur "Art" Cole, age 78, of Lansing, Iowa were held Monday, October 1 at the United Methodist Church in Lansing with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Delbert Cole, Kenny Hill, Russell Sickles, Gene Trudo, Art Schobert, and Jerry Seitz. Honorary pallbearers were Blaine Wilder, Gary Wilder, Brent Wilder, and Monty Wilder. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing, Iowa handled the arrangements.

Arthur Cole, son of Burt and Jessie (Parson) Cole, was born December 24, 1911 at Colesburg, Iowa. They moved to a farm in Allamakee County, Iowa when Art was a child. On October 10, 1935 he married Ardis Wilder in Waukon, Iowa. He logged for a time and then farmed for many years. For several years he worked as a custodian of Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa.

Arthur Cole died Friday, September 28, 1990 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Verna Schobert.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Ardis; 2 sons, Myron Cole of Dubuque, Iowa, and Duane Cole
of Calmar, Iowa; 1 daughter, Helen Christianson of Waterville, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, John Cole of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and 2 sisters, Bertha Hill of Waukon, Iowa and Martha Jenson of Marquette, Iowa.
