Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)A private memorial funeral service for Eulalia Marie Seiler, a Postville, Iowa native, was held at Carlson Funeral Home in Emporia, Kansas on Monday, October 22 at 2:30 p.m. Inurnment was in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Eulalia Marie, daughter of William and Eltha (Thoma) Klingbeil, was born September 22, 1918 at Postville, Iowa.
Eulalia died Saturday, October 20, 1990 at Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathryn Ashmore.
Eulalia Seiler is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Seiler at home, 2 sons, William H. Seiler, Jr. of McPherson, Kansas and James Seiler of Overland Park, Kansas, and 5 grandchildren.
NOTE: Eulalia's father, William Klingbeil, was the publisher of the VOLKSBLATT, a Postville German Language newspaper that was published between 1914-1918. In 1918, the name was changed to the Postville Herald and it was written in English. Mr. Klingbeil continued to be the owner and publisher of THE HERALD, until he sold it in 1948.
