Funeral services for John M. Jones, age 79, of rural Waukon, Iowa were held Monday, January 15 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Father Ed Lechtenberg conducting the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in Moody Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were John W. Jones, Scott Jones, Gregg Jones, James Goekey, Randy Olson, and Don Schsleckmon.

John M. Jones, son of Louis and Henrietta (Moody) Jones, was born July 10, 1910 in McGregor, Iowa. He graduated from high school. He married Irene Ryan on November 24, 1936 at St. Patrick's Church. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa.

John M. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Irene in 1987, and a son Frank Jones.

He is survived by 3 sons, Wayne Jones of Wyoming, Iowa, Neil Jones of Jackson Junction, Iowa, and Brother Leo Jones of Weschester, Illinois; 1 grandchild and 9 great-grandchildren.
