Caryl Norma (Kolsrud) Hager
Funeral services for Caryl Hager were held at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Saturday, Oct. 13, 1990 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Elvig officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, is in charge of arrangements.
Caryl Norma (Kolsrud) Hager was born Jan. 19, 1917 in Waterville, Iowa, to Ben and Hulda Kolsrud.
Caryl graduated from Waterville High School in 1937, then attended the Waukon Junior College, graduating in 1939. She was a school teacher at Village Creek for one year before she dedicated her time to being a homemaker.
She married Elmer Wayne Hager on Sept. 10, 1940 at the Old Paint Creek Lutheran Church. They had four children. She was a Sunday School and vocational Bible teacher, Youth group leader, Church treasurer, member of a Bible study group and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and Ludlow Homemakers.
Preceding her in death was an infant daughter Norma and a sister Lila Kowalishen.
Surviving are her husband, Elmer; 3 daughters, Caryl Brown of San Jose, California, Mrs. Loren (Karen) Marburg of Morgan Hill, California, and Eileen Hager of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Jean) Wiedenmann of Monona; 3 brothers, Lloyd Kolsrud of Muscatine, Iowa, John Kolsrud of Los Altos, California and Bernard Kolsrud of Waukon; and 4 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Garry and Kent Wiedenmann, Jim Spratt, Barry Kolsrud, Greg Hager and Lyle Guese.
