Hanna M. Wieland, age 69, of LaCrescent, Minnesota died Saturday March 3, 1990 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in LaCrescent, Minnesota. The Revs. Duane Baardseth and Mark Anderson officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia, Minnesota with Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of LaCrescent, Minnesota in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Roger Etchenkamp, Terry Lessmann, Arthur Finke, Jr., Richard Oitzman, Garnet Beneke, and Craig Rollins.

Hanna was born April 9, 1920 in rural Eitzen, Minnesota to Henry and Mary (Meyer) Beneke. On June 1, 1940 she married Wilbert O. Wieland in Eitzen, Minnesota. She had worked as a nurse's aide at LaCrescent Health Care Center for the past 16 years and was a member of Prince of Peace Church and its Rachel Circle. She was also a member of Gittens-Leidel American Legion Auxiliary Post 595 of LaCrescent, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbert on April 28, 1976, a sister, Ella Wiegrefe, and a brother Martin Beneke.

Surviving are a daughter, Letha (Arnold) Ideker of Hokah, Minnesota, a son James W. Wieland of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Alma Kannenberg of Caledonia, Minnesota, Frieda Meyer and Hilda (William) Cordes, both of Eitzen, Minnesota, Olga (Elmer) Morey of Spring Grove, Minnesota and Norma (Alvin) Oitzman of New Albin, Iowa; 4 brothers, Edwin Beneke and William Beneke, both of Eitzen, Minnesota, and Louis Beneke and Walter Beneke, both of Caledonia, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.
