Richard G. Schultz, 93, of Lansing died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services were held Monday, February 28 at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, with Rev. Steve Hubbell officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.
Richard G. Schultz was born October 22, 1917 at Waukon. He was the son of Edwin and Caroline Schultz. He attended school in Waukon. September 15, 1942 he married Ruth Iseli at the Evangelical United Brethren Parsonage in Lansing.
Richard worked as a carpenter with his dad for many years. He then worked as a buttermaker at the Calhoun Creamery in Churchtown, farmed outside of Churchtown, drove for Purolator, and finally worked as the custodian at the United Methodist Church in Lansing. He served on the Board with the ASCS office, was on the Board of Trustees at the church, and served as Secretary for the Rural Fire Department. Richard enjoyed 65 years of marriage to Ruth.
He is survived by one son, Ronald Schultz of Lansing; one daughter, Pam Seidel of LaCrosse, WI; two grandchildren, Kevin Schultz and James (Cathy) Seidel; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth, August 26, 2008; an infant son; a twin brother in infancy, Ronald T. Schultz; and a brother, Alvin.Waukon Standard, March 2, 2011
