Lloyd O. Griffith, 83, of Lansing, formerly of Hudson, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon following an unexpected illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 24 at the Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home in Lansing, with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing.
Lloyd O. Griffith was born May 16, 1927 at Dysart. He was the son of Maurice and Bessie Butts Griffith. In 1944 Lloyd graduated from high school at Hudson. August 30, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lois Schmitz at Canton, SD. Lloyd farmed his entire career two miles east of Hudson. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and water skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of Lansing; one son, Larry (Christine) of Hudson; one daughter, Jan (Glen) Apple of Rockwall, TX; one sister, Sibyl (Jim) Brees of New Hampton; and three grandchildren, Quinton, Ethan and Chandler. He was preceded in death by his parents.
